Internet Workshop Activity

At least two new ideas you learned about mythology:

  • There are Roman gods and Greek gods who have different names, but have the same task. For example Minerva is a Roman go and Athena is a Greek god and both of them are the warrior goddess.
  • Myths are found all over the world not just Roman and Greek gods. There are Equptian, Aztec, Chinese, Maya, Maori, and Norse myths.

At least one navigational strategy you used to locate information within a particular website:

  • By clicking on different links throughout each website bring me to what each god represents.
  • Links within the website also bring me to other reliable websites.

At least one reliable source of information about that topic (indicate how you decided the source was a reliable one):

  • Looking at different webistes show how a lot of the information is the same. For example there are charts of Roman gods and Greek gods who mean the same thing.
  • There are exercises within the reading
  • Facts about the cultures and myths

At least one informational feature you found useful and developmentally appropriate for fourth graders studying this topic:

  • There were different ways of looking at each country and there myths.
  • Stories help students read about a myth.
  • Chart explains each god/goddess
  • There are pictures and games such as mythology hangman

Objectives: After reading the Magic Treehouse book, Vacation Under the Volcano, we are going to look further into mythology all over the world. We will be using the website: http://mythicjourneys.org/bigmyth/2_eng_myths.htm. Fill out the worksheet and hopefully you will find out something you never learned before!
